Norja: Secrets Of The Ice

Secrets Of The Ice on projekti jossa arkeologit sekä vapaaehtoiset tutkijat kartuttavat viimevuosien aikana yhä nopeammin sulavan jäänalta paljastuvien esineiden metsästämistä.
Tästä aiheesta ei voi pettyä. Upeita löytöjä!

Tässä yksi viimeisimmistä julkaisuista.
“The back part of an arrow with the fletching still largely intact. The thread is believed to be linen, the feathers are not identified yet. Radiocarbon dated to AD 800. Found in the glaciated mountain pass at Lendbreen. It is made from pine. Split wood, not from a branch.”

“This is the back part of an arrow from AD 300-600, found at the Great Ice Patch this year. There are imprints of string in the remaining tar. Small pieces of two of the feathers are still attached. 1500 years later, we get a good impression of the high skill of the Iron Age arrowmaker.”
